Kari views counseling as a journey of self-discovery. Through this self-discovery, the therapist and client work together to explore the client’s inner world. The ultimate goal is to increase self awareness and facilitate change in the client’s life. Most people come to counseling because they want to be happier and counseling helps to explore what is getting in the way of this happiness. Through hard work and collaboration, the therapist and client work together to remove these obstacles so he or she can go on to lead a happy and fulfilling life.

They represent both doctoral and master's level students with specialty backgrounds as diverse as their own. All interns work under the direct supervision of Dr. Spillman. Please feel free to write and ask about our current internship staff and their qualifications to help.
